10 Characteristics of Eubacteria
  1. Cell walls are constructed of peptidoglycan
  2. Can live in many different environments
  3. Generally beneficial. However, some are harmful.
  4. There are more bacteria in the body than there are people in the world
  5. They are prokaryotes
  6. Come in three different shapes - cocci, bacilli, spirochetes
  7. Some bacteria are used in the production of foods such as cheese and yogurt
  8. Humans need bacteria in order to function properly
  9. All surfaces are covered with thriving bacteria
  10. Some bacteria are heterotrophs and others are autotrophs

Eubacteria are singlecelled organisms. They are found virtually everywhere. They find food in a variety of ways: most are heterotrophic, though some can use photosynthesis to produce their own energy. They move with the help of flagella and cillia. Bacteria reproduce asexually through binary fission.
